Fasting is generally not advised for breastfeeding moms. However, if you choose to fast, make sure to eat and drink wholesome food in the right quantity during suhoor and Iftar. This keeps the body hydrated and healthy.
Sometimes new mothers worry that a milk duct is clogged, causing milk to back up and resulting in a painful lump. Here, if you don't spot redness or have a fever, you can continue breastfeeding as this keeps the milk flowing, thereby unclogging the duct. Drain your affected breast every time you feed.
