Mohamed Salem

Asst. Prof. Dr. Mohamed Salem is the Director of Interventional Cardiology & Endovascular Medicine at The Heart and Vascular Center. Asst. Prof. Dr. Salem joined the American Hospital in 2013; prior to that, he was in clinical practice for 10 years in Pennsylvania, USA. He worked at Guthrie Clinic, PA. He has also worked as an Associate Director of Cardiac Catheterization Lab at St. Luke’s University Hospital & Network, PA. Both institutions are ranked by Thomson-Reuters among the Top 50 hospitals for cardiac and vascular care in the US. Dr. Salem has substantial experience with the radial artery approach for cardiac catheterization, complex cardiac and peripheral vascular interventions, ASD and PFO closure, critical limb ischemia and venous disease. He participated in many scientific meetings and authored and co-authored several publications. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the Society of Vascular Medicine.
